Kardea Brown’s Southern Kitchen

Kardea Brown’s Southern Kitchen is a vibrant new dining destination located at Charleston International Airport (CHS), celebrating the flavors and traditions of Southern and Gullah Geechee cuisine. The restaurant marks a historic milestone as the first culinary space in the Charleston airport owned by a person of color.

Working with celebrity chef Kardea Brown — host of Food Network’s Delicious Miss Brown and New York Times best-selling author — this project focused on visually translating her rich cultural heritage and storytelling approach into a cohesive, welcoming brand experience.

As Art Director, I oversaw on-site creative direction during production, guiding the visual composition, color, and lighting to align with the restaurant’s warm, soulful identity. I also led post-production editing and motion graphics design, shaping the final visuals used across digital displays, promotional materials, and in-venue content.

The result is a vibrant visual narrative that captures the spirit of the Lowcountry and Kardea’s unique voice — a blend of Southern comfort, authenticity, and contemporary design that invites travelers to connect with Charleston’s culinary soul.
